A 6-year-old girl at a swimming class was saved from a near-drowning Monday morning and taken to Seattle Children’s Hospital.

The girl was pulled from the deep end of a swimming pool about 9:28 a.m. at a fitness center in the 2000 block of Westlake Avenue.

A staff member rescued the girl and performed CPR. Medics arrived to find the girl breathing and alert with a good pulse, according to Seattle Fire Department reports.

She was taken to the hospital in satisfactory condition.
